Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the clinical outcomes, knee function, and knee stability five years after arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction using the All-Inside technique.

Subjects and Methods: This retrospective and prospective descriptive longitudinal study included 62 patients with anterior cruciate ligament tears who underwent arthroscopic ACL reconstruction using the All-Inside technique with an autologous hamstring tendon graft at the Joint Surgery Department, 108 Military Central Hospital, from May 2019 to May 2021. Five-year postoperative outcomes were assessed using the Lysholm and IKDC scores, knee stability measured by the KT-1000 arthrometer, and clinical findings. Knee osteoarthritis was evaluated on radiographs according to the Kellgren–Lawrence classification, and radiographic parameters were compared with those of the contralateral knee.

Results: At five years, 100% of patients achieved good or excellent Lysholm outcomes, with a mean score of 92.42 ± 2.77. According to the IKDC classification, 76.7% of patients were classified as grade A and 23.3% as grade B. Lachman testing showed grade 0 in 88.7% of patients, and 93% had anterior tibial translation of ≤2 mm. Radiographic osteoarthritis was significantly more severe in the operated knee than in the contralateral knee (p < 0.001).

Conclusion: Arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction using the All-Inside technique is a safe and feasible procedure that provides good restoration of knee stability and function, with a low complication rate.
