ULTRASONOGRAPHIC FEATURES IN PATIENTS WITH THREATENED MISCARRIAGE AT VINMEC TIMES CITY INTERNATIONAL GENERAL HOSPITAL
Main Article Content
Abstract
Objective: To describe the ultrasonographic features of patients with threatened miscarriage at Vinmec Times City International General Hospital.
Subjects and Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted in 59 patients diagnosed with threatened miscarriage who underwent clinical examination and ultrasonography at Vinmec Times City International General Hospital from January 2025 to December 2025.
Results: The mean maternal age was 29.8 ± 4.8 years, with women aged 25–34 years accounting for 61.0% of the study population. Ultrasonography confirmed an intrauterine pregnancy in 100% of cases, with an embryo and fetal cardiac activity identified in 94.9% of cases. The mean gestational age was 8.1 ± 1.5 weeks, the mean crown–rump length (CRL) was 16.8 ± 7.9 mm, and the mean fetal heart rate was 161.4 ± 18.7 beats/min. Subchorionic hematoma was detected in 23.7% of cases, predominantly small in size (64.3%) and located adjacent to the gestational sac (71.4%). The cervix was closed in 98.3% of cases.
Conclusion: Ultrasonography provides valuable comprehensive assessment of early pregnancy in patients with threatened miscarriage, enabling evaluation of pregnancy location, viability, and relevant morphological features. An integrated assessment of ultrasonographic findings may support appropriate clinical follow-up and reduce the risk of diagnosis based on a single isolated finding.
