Abstract

Objectives: Evaluate the scores and factors associated with Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQoL) using the FACT-Lym questionnaire at pre-treatment, after 3 cycles, and after 6 cycles of chemotherapy.


Subjects: Patients aged 16 years and older with CD20-positive Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma (DLBCL) receiving treatment at the Department of Hematology, Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital, from May 2023 to January 2024.


Methods: A prospective, descriptive, non-interventional case series study. The primary assessment tool was the FACT-Lym questionnaire. Each patient was evaluated at the three aforementioned time points. Higher scores indicate better HRQoL.


Results: The total FACT-Lym score increased significantly over time (p < 0.05). Notably, all subscale scores increased, except for the functional well-being score, which decreased. Factors associated with HRQoL included: age, Body Mass Index (BMI), disease stage, International Prognostic Index (IPI), tumor bulk, site of involvement, germinal center B-cell/non-germinal center B-cell subtype, and treatment response.


Conclusion: HRQoL significantly improved in DLBCL patients treated with R-CHOP/R-CEOP regimens.
