EVALUATING THE RESULTS OF TRACHEOSTOMYIN PNEUMONIA PATIENTS WITH VENTILATION AT CANTHO GENERAL HOSPITAL IN 2019 – 2021

Abstract

Objectives: Survey on some clinical characteristics and evaluate the results of tracheostomy, efficiency of pulmonary ventilation and postoperative care in pneumoniapatients with ventilator. Materials and methods: A descriptive prospective and clinical interventional study on 60 pneumonia patients with ventilation from 03/2019 to 03/2021. Results: Average age were 72±16,5. Time of preoperative mechanical ventilaror were 15,5±9,71 days. Bleeding at surgery 11,7%. The most common postoperative complication was surrounding tracheostomy tube infection 55%. Results after tracheostomy were good in 31,7%, average in 30% and bad in 38,3% of total cases of surgery. Conclusion: Tracheostomy improves sputum clearance status and ventilation function in pneumonia patients with mechanical ventilation.
