Abstract

Objectives: Investigate the role of CT scan in trauma and abdominal wound diagnosis at Saigon General Hospital. Subjects and methods:T he prospective study describes cross-sectional sections on all patients with surgical trauma or abdominal wounds at the General Surgery Department of Saigon General Hospital from January 1, 2019 to June 30, 2021. Results: A total of 121 cases of trauma or abdominal injuries were diagnosed and operated. CT scan to detect free fluid in the bulb, sensitivity 93%, specificity 98%. CT scan to determine the hollow organ rupture with sensitivity 84.5%, specificity 92.46%. In the visceral solid, CT scan has accuracy 96.5%. Conclusion: Trauma and abdominal trauma often present in a multi-organ, multi-lesion setting. Choice of imaging technique depends on hemodynamics and available media. CT scan is a solid basis for injury assessment in hemodynamically stable patients: comprehensive and thorough management, reducing mortality
