Abstract

Aim: evaluate the results of treatment on malignant glioma and influencing factors. Object and method: a prospective, descriptive research on 77 patients were detected with malignant gliomas and underwent microneurosurgery in Neurosurgery Center of Viet Duc University Hospital between July 2015 and June 2017. Result: clinical symptom includes: increased intracranial pressure syndrome 88.3%, paralysis 40.3%, epilepsy 16.9%. Complication: Bleeding 6.5%, edema 6.5%, CSF leakage 1.3%. Extent of tumor removal: Gross total resection 55.8%, subtotal resection 31.2%. Result: good 71.4%, medium 14.3% and poor 14.3%. The survival averaging 16.94 months. Conclusion: microsurgery and neuronavigation enable to remove tumor better. The extent of tumor removal, chemo-radiotherapy help lengthen the survival time after surgery.
