Abstract

Objectives: Toexplore barriers in the guideline-adherence for ACS patients. Subjects and methods: A qualitative study with depth interview using semi-structured questionaires was conducted ina group of physicians who participated in treatment of ACS patients in Huu Nghi Hospital. Results: Totally 11 physicians participated in the study (54,5% with over 10 years of experience, 63,6% were male). Weidentified two groupsof barriers: internal barriers related to physicians (knowledge, clinical experience, prescribing habit, lack of agreement with guidelines); external barriers (guideline, hospital systems, cost, patients). These factors were associated with incompliance with guideline ofantiplatelet agents, anticoagulants, beta-blockers, and statins. Conclusion: This study identified several importantbarriers in adherence-guideline for management of ACS inpatients in Huu Nghi Hospital. These are important bases for practical solutions to improve the quality of drug use in Huu nghi hospital.
