Abstract

The study aimed to determine the prevalence of dentin hypersensitivity in the group of dental students from University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam National University. A total of 212 students were examined for the presence of dentin hypersensitivity by means of a questionaire and intraoral tests (using air stimuli and Yeaple Probe stimuli). There were 33 students (15.6%) claimed to have hypersensitivity teeth, with no differences between male and female. The presence of dentin hypersensitivity were positively correlated with a couple of factors: noncarious cervical lesions, tooth erosion, gingival recession and using acidic foods and drinks.
