Abstract

Objectives: To evaluate the early results of the treatment of choledocholithiasis by laparoscopic surgery combined with intra-operative choledochoscopy in elderly patients. Materials and Methods: A prospective, clinical interventional study on 72 patients with choledocholithiasis treated by laparoscopic surgery combined with intra-operative choledochoscopy from May 2016 to November 2020 at Can Tho  General Hospital. Results: The mean age was 73,13 + 9,34 years. The successful rate of laparoscopic surgery was 97,22%. The rate of stone clearance was 90,14%. The rate of postoperative complications was 8,45%. Conclusion: Laparoscopic surgery combined with intra-operative choledochoscopy for treatment of choledocholithiasis in elderly patients is a safe and effective method with high rate of success and stone clearance, low rate of postoperative complications.
