THE ORGASM PHASE OF SEXUAL RESPONSE CYCLE IN PATIENTS WITH MANIA

Abstract

Our study aimed to invest the orgasmic phase of sexual response cycle in patients with manic who treated in Institute of Mental Health - Bach Mai hospital. This is a cross-sectional descriptive study, included 60 patients diagnosed with mania episode according to ICD-10 (F30, F31.0, F31.1, F31.2). Results: the mean age of partcipants was 33.3 ± 11.2 years old. There were more women than men, and the female/male ratio was about 1.3/1. Majority of manic patients achieved orgasm during sex (75.0%). The percentage of anorgasmia was lower in men than in  women (7.7% vs 38.2%, p = 0.011. Most of patients were satisfied with orgasm (75.5%) and did not feel discomfort or pain during sexual intercourse (78.3%).
