Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the quality of life (QoL) of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients in Outpatient Department Bachmai hospital 2021 and some associated factors. Materials and methods: in a cross-sectional study, the quality of life (QoL) was measured by Lupus-PRO questionnaire in 91 SLE patients. The relationship between QoL scores (0 – 100) with age, gender, duration of SLE, age of onset and clinical manifestations were also evaluated. Results: 72.53% of patients had moderate to bad QoL, the average Lupus-PRO score; Health-Related QoL (HRQoL) score and Non-Health-Related QoL (N-HRQoL) score were 63.09 ± 15.54; 66.92 ± 12.22 and 59.26 ± 20.97, respectively. The QoL was significantly lower in ≥ 40 years old patients (p <0.05), durations of disease ≥ 5 years (p <0.01), having comorbidities (p<0.05), SLEDAI score ≥ 5 (p<0.01) and having more than 4 clinical manifestions (p<0.05). Conclusion: Most of SLE patients had moderate to bad QoL. The QoL was significantly lower in patients ≥ 40 years old, disease duration ≥ 5 years, having comorbidities, SLEDAI score ≥ 5 and more than 4 clinical manifestions.
