Abstract

Retinal vein occlusion is a rare disease in healthy young adults with no underlying comorbidities. However, recently, at the Vitreoretinal Department- Hanoi Eye Hospital, we have admited three cases of young people who had healthy medical history, were diagnosed with retinal vein occlusion after Astrazeneca vaccination for COVID-19. Physical symptoms are manifested by sudden loss of vision or loss of visual field that happens 7 - 10 days after injection. The patient was treated with intravitreal injection of anti-VEGF or follow up. The results showed that the visual acuity of all three patients improved well, macular edema on OCT decreased significantly. Therefore, attention should be paid to following and detecting retinal occlusion after Astrazeneca vaccination.
