RESEARCH ON SOME THE ANTHROPOMETRIC INDICATORS OF NEONATAL IN THAI NGUYEN PROVINCE

Abstract
Objectives: Describe the anthropometric indicators of neonatal in 20 communes in 4 districts of Thai Nguyen province and identify some factors related to the average birth weight and length of children. Methods: cross-sectional description. Results: Average birth weight for boys: 3.10 ± 0.39kg; girls: 3.01 ± 0.38kg: Average length at birth for boys: 49.08 ± 2.87cm; girls: 48.49 ± 2.73cm; Average head circumference of boys: 32.45 ± 2.60cm; girls: 32.03 ± 2.37cm. Mid-upper arm circumference for boys: 11.04 ± 1.45cm, girls: 10.89 ± 1.43cm. Factors related to baby's birth weight: mothers supplemented with micronutrients before pregnancy, BMI of mothers before pregnancy, weight gain of mothers during pregnancy. Factors related to the length of the child at birth: the mother supplemented with micronutrients before pregnancy, the mother's height before pregnancy. Conclusion: The anthropometric indexes are higher in boys than girls. The nutritional status of mothers before and during pregnancy is related to the weight and length of the children at birth.
