ACCEPTANCE OF PARENTS FOR CHILDREN AGED 5-11 TUBE VACCINATED AGAINST COVID-19 IN VIET NAM AND SOME FACTORS RELATED IN 2022

Abstract

A cross-sectional descriptive study on 41478 people with children aged 5-11, currently living in Viet Nam from January 18, 2022 to February 22, 2022. The objective of the study was to determine the rate and some factors related to the agreements of parents for children 5-11 years old to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Results: the percentage of parents who agree to give their children the vaccine against COVID-19 (CNCTrT-VX) is 62,69%. Factors related to the rate of parents' agreement of children vaccinated are research subjects (RS) in rural and mountainous areas are 2.87 and 2.48 times higher than those in the city/town; male’s acceptance rate is 1.52 times higher than female; the age group 31-40, 41-50 and over 50 acceptance rate compared with the age group under 30 is 0.79, 1.09 and 1.61 times; RS with high school education, professional intermediate level, college/ university and post-graduate education have a lower rate of high school education than those with primary school education of 0.76, 0.49, 0, 0. 28 and 0.21 times; Children with chronic diseases or history of allergies reduce parental acceptance of injections by 0.52 and 0.34 times; Normal or overweight children are 1.76 and 1.91 times more likely to have a parent with acceptance than underweight children; Households with 3 and more than 3 children are acceptance rate 1.41 and 1.22 times more than households with 1 child. The proportions of children aged 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 years old who had a parent acceptance rate compared with no child in this age group were 0.53, 0.71, 0.80, 0 respectively. .94, 1.08, 1.31 and 1.56 times. Conclusion: the results of the study showed that 62,69% RS agree to give their children the vaccine against COVID-19. The factors related to acceptance rate are the parent's age group, gender, education, chronic medical condition, allergy history and child's weight, number of children in the household, age group of the child.
