AGREEMENTS OF PARENTS FOR CHILDREN AGED 5-11 TUBE VACCINATED AGAINST COVID-19 IN DISTRICTS IN HANOI AND SOME FACTORS RELATED IN 2022

Abstract

A cross-sectional descriptive study on 15245 people with children aged 5-11, currently living in inner-city districts of Hanoi from January 18, 2022 to February 26, 2022. The objective of the study was to determine the rate and some factors related to the agreements of parents for children 5-11 years old to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Results: the percentage of parents who agree to give their children the vaccine against COVID-19 is 56.58%. Factors related to the rate of parents' agreement of children vaccinated are 0.67 times (p<0.001) lower than that of males; compared with the age group under 30, the group 31-40 years old accepted was 0.80 times (p<0.05) lower, the group 41-50 and over 50 years old accepted higher 1.17 and 1.40 times (p<0.05); research subjects with intermediate professional education, college/university and post-graduate education have 0.44 times, 0.28 times, and 0.22 times lower rates of acceptance than the group with primary education levels (p<0.001); families with children with chronic diseases or children with a history of allergies reduce the rate of acceptance compared with families with normal children by 0.57 and 0.38 times (p<0.001); children aged 5, 6 and 7 had a parent with acceptance less than 0.64 times, 0.68 and 0.82 times lower (p<0.001), but children 10 and 11 years old were 1.19 and 1.39 times (p<0.001) higher by parents of acceptance. Conclusion: the results of the study showed that over 50% of the study population agree to give their children the vaccine against COVID-19. The factors related to the rate of significant (p<0.001) are the parent's age group, gender, education, chronic disease status, allergy history and the child's weight, the number of children in the household. family, child's age group (5,6,7,10 and 11 years old).
