PRELIMINARY RESULTS OF TREATMENT OF SCAPHOID FRACTURES WITH HERBERT SCREW AT THAI NGUYEN NATIONAL HOSPITAL
Main Article Content
Abstract
Objectives: The evaluate preliminary results of treatment of scaphoid fractures with Herbert screw at Thai Nguyen national hospital. Material and method: From January 2019 to December 2021, there were 07 patients with scaphoid fracture who had surgery to internal fixation with Herbert screw at the Department of Traumatology – Orthopedic, earlyresults were evaluated based on X-ray after surgery to achieve anatomy, the resultswere far from the Mayo wrist score evaluation, union process on X-ray. Results: all 06 patients were male with an average age was 34 (from 25 to 58), the average follow-up time was 19,4 months. The fracture site was located in the scaphoid waist in 07 (100 %) patients, the results after surgery with 6/7 patients achieved anatomy (85,8%). The results as far asMayo wrist score reached 6/7 patients were good and very good (85,8%). Conclusion:Herbert’scombined bone marrow surgery with Herbert’s screw provides good results for patients with boat fractures, helps patients recover early the wrist function, avoiding complications nonunion.
