KNOWLEDGE, ATTITUDE ABOUT PATIENT ADHERENCE TO COVID-19 TREATMENT IN TAN UYEN HEALTH CENTER, BINH DUONG PROVINCE IN 2021

Abstract
Background: According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the outbreak of coronavirus epidemic 2019 (COVID-19) has been spreading all over the world. In April, 2020, it was estimated that it had affected more than 65.000.000 people and caused more than 1.500.000 deaths worldwide. Nevertheless, patients have just raised awareness of COVID-19, which leads to better treatment for patients. Objectives: Survey patients’ knowledge, adherence, and attitude toward COVID-19 treatment in Tan Uyen Health Center, Binh Duong Province in 2021. Samples and methods: Cross-sectional descriptive studies in Tan Uyen Health Center with 146 COVID-19 patients. Results: The results have showed that most of patients have certain knowledge of the COVID-19 treatment adherence, but only 36 people answered all 11 questions properly, accounting for 24.7%. About 72.6% of patients have had knowledge of antibiotics that are not used for specific treatments, 90.4% of patients had full knowledge of measures to prevent cross-infection in isolation, 93.2% of patients understood the period of self-isolation after they had been discharged from hospital. Attitude: 94.5% of patients had an optimistic attitude, 100% of patients agreed to follow medical isolation after being discharged, 93.2% agreed to fully adopt disease prevention solution. Conclusion: The results have showed that it is essential to consolidate drastic measures to improve patients’ knowledge, adherence, and attitude toward treatment.
