Abstract

Background: Lung cancer is one of the most common cancers and the leading cause of death worldwide. The technique of lobectomy with lymph node dissection for early-stage non-small cell lung cancer (I, II) by uniportal video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery has been widely performed by authors. At Viet Duc University Hospital, this procedure has been carried out routinely and we need summaries and comments on the feasibility of the method. Methods: A descriptive, retrospective study of 37 patients with early-stage non-small cell lung cancer treated by single-hole thoracoscopic surgery from January 2016 to June 2021 on intra-operative and post-operative parameters, with the same complication rate.... Result: Including 21 men and 16 women. Mean age 59.62 ± 8.79 (34 - 76). Surgery time 150 ± 22.58 minutes (90-195). The average time of pleural drainage was 5.59 ± 1.46 days (3-9). Average number of hospital days 7.54 ± 1.86 days (4-12). There were no deaths, complications and serious complications during and post-operation. Cancer stage: 18 cases stage I, 19 cases stage II. Conclusion: Lobectomy with lymph node dissection in the treatment of early non-small cell lung cancer by uniportal video-assited thoracoscopic surgery is a safe, feasible and advantageous method.
