LAPAROSCOPIC SURGERY TO TREAT APPENDICITIS COMPLICATION AT BACH MAI HOSPITAL

Abstract

Objectives: To evaluate results of laparoscopic surgery to treat appendicitis complications at Bach Mai Hospital. Subjects and research methods: retrospective descriptive study of 82 cases of laparoscopic surgery to treat complications of appendicitis in 3 years at General Surgery Departmen, Bach Mai Hospital. Results: Complications of appendicitis were found in both men and women. Male/female is 1.4/1. The most common perforation site in the appendix body (68.3%). In appendectomy, clamping the appendiceal stump by hemolock was the predominant (90.2%), the average operation time was 65.1±15.2 minutes, the average time in hospital  was 5,68 ± 1,2 days. There were no intraoperative complications, no deaths. The complication rate was 7.3%. Good result is 92.7%, average is 7.3%, bad is 0%. Conclusion: Laparoscopic surgery to treat appendicitis complications is a minimally invasive, safe and effective surgery
