Abstract

Objectives: Describe the status of glycemic control and some risk factors among outpatients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at Thai Binh Medical University Hospital in 2019. Method: cross-sectional study; 336 patients were collected - sample size was calculated according to descriptive study. Results: the proportion of patients who achieved the target of fasting blood glucose accounted for: 40.7%. The proportion of patients reaching the target HbA1c: 44,3%. There are relationships between glycemic control and BMI (OR = 2,1; 1,2 - 3,2), adherence to diet (OR = 2,9; 1,7 - 4,9), exercise regimen (OR = 1,9; 1,2 - 3,2), medication regimen (OR = 3,3; 1,6 - 6,8). Conclusion: The proportion of patients with fasting blood glucose control is still quite low. It is necessary to implement weight control, adherence to diet, to exercise and treatment for improving the fasting blood glucose control.
