Abstract

Objective: Describe the results of health education and communication on COVID-19 prevention in some communes, Phu Binh district, Thai Nguyen province and analyze some influencing factors. Research Methods: The study was a cross-sectional descriptive study. Research subjects are health workers at the station and people in comunity. Research results show that the human resources at the stations are sufficient according to regulations, communication activities are deployed regularly: through loudsspeakers 432 times/year, direct consultation 783 times/year, 100% of community health stations have specific corners and the media for communication. Knowledge, attitude and practice on COVID-19 prevention shows that 54.2% of people have good knowledge and 85.8% have good attitudes and 55.5% have good practices. The positive influencing factors are sufficient human resources, training in communication, active direction of leaders at all levels, and the participation and coordination of many departments and organizations. However, it is still difficult because the budget for communication activities is limited and the COVID-19 epidemic makes it difficult to carry out direct communication activities. Conlusions: Health education and communication on COVID-19 prevention has been conducted regularly mainly through loudspeakers and direct consultaion. The factors affecting the health education and communication are full human resources, under the direction of leaders and the coordinated participation of many departments and organizations, but the funding is limited
