RESEARCH ON SLEEP DISORDER IN PATIENTS WITH DEPRESSIVE DISORDER

Abstract
Objectives: Features of sleep disturbance in depressed patients. Research object and method: 48 inpatients with depressive disorder, who were treated at the department of psychiatry, 103 Military Hospital, from April 2021 to March 2022. Prospective, cross-sectional study. Results: Most of the patients were insomnia (93.8%). The average number of sleep disturbance days per week was 6.38 ± 1.34 days. The most of patients have insomnia at the beginning of sleep (40.0%) and insomnia in the middle of sleep (20.0)%. The average sleep duration per night was 4.12 ± 2.39 hours. Nightmares occurred in 27.1% of patients. Pittsburgh index 15.00 ± 2.917. There is a relationship between sleep duration, Pittsburgh index and suicidal idea and behavior of suicide in depressed patients. Conclusions: The most of patients with depressive disorder have insomnia on every day per week, sleep durations are short, and nightmares are frecvent. Sleep duration, Pittsburgh index are associated with suicidal idea and behavior of suicide.
