Main Article Content
Abstract
By cross-sectional descriptive research method, we have surveyed 2,582 health care workers (HCW), we have the following conclusions: The average height of HCW is 158.8 ± 7.0 cm, of which the average height of male HCW is 166.4 ± 5.3 cm and female HCW is 155.6 ± 4.8 cm. The average weight of HCW is 55.6 ± 9.4 kg, of which the average weight of male HCW is 65.0 ± 8.7 kg and female HCW are 51.7 ± 6.4 kg. BMI of HCW is as follows: underweight (8.0%), normal (80.1%), overweight (11.3%) and obese (0.7%). There is a positive correlation between age and BMI of HCW (p<0.001). BMI of HCW by sex, age, professional qualifications and ethnicity has differences (p<0.001). Male HCW have a higher prevalence of overweight and obesity than female HCW. Doctors have a higher prevalence of overweight and obesity than other groups of professional qualifications. Using a multivariable regression model shows that smoking, alcohol consumption and comorbidities are related to the prevalence of overweight and obesity of HCW (p<0.001). This is an alarming situation and Dak Lak health Service needs appropriate recommendations to adjust the lifestyle, physical activity, diet and working regime of HCW.
