THE STATUS OF MEDICAL WASTE TREATMENT AT THAI NGUYEN CITY MEDICAL CENTER

Abstract
Medical waste treatment is an issue that needs to be addressed due to the risk of medical waste significantly affecting the environment as well as human health. Objectives: The study aims to describe the status of medical waste treatment at Thai Nguyen City Medical Center. Methodology: By descriptive study method, cross-sectional study design carried out with 06 departments and 32 medical stations under Thai Nguyen City Medical Center. Results: shows that 50% of faculties and 25% of medical stations preliminarily treat medical waste at the place of arising; 100% of faculties carry out hazardous medical waste treatment at Thai Nguyen City Medical Center; 81.3% of health stations treat hazardous waste by transporting it to the health center, 40.6% by manual burning, 37.5% by burying and burying and 25.0% dump it with domestic waste. The authors recommend that the medical stations and departments of Thai Nguyen City Medical Center have to properly treatment medical waste
