CLINICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF PATIENTS WITH VOCAL CORD POLYPS

Abstract

Objectives: To describe the clinical characteristics of patients with vocal cord polyps at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Nam Dinh General Hospital. Subjects and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study on 38 patients with confirmed diagnosis of vocal cord polyps at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Nam Dinh General Hospital from January 2018 to October 2021. Results: Polyps of the vocal cords were found mainly in the age group of 20 - 60 years old (89.5%). The rate of female is more than male 1.53/1. Rhinitis, pharyngitis, chronic tonsillitis, pharyngo-oesophageal reflux are favorable factors. Hoarseness is the main symptom in 100% of patients and may be unique in some patients. Conclusion: The study initially evaluated the clinical characteristics of vocal cord polyps.
