CURRENT KNOWLEDGE OF HEALTH STAFF ABOUT PRIMARY CARE AT LOWER-LEVEL HEALTH CENTERS LOCATED IN SEVERAL COMMUNES OF NAM DINH, 2022

Abstract
Objective: Describing the situations of health staff’s knowledge about primary health care at lower-level health centers located in several communes of Nam Dinh in 2022. Subject and methodology: Cross-section description of the whole health staff in 12 communes belonging to 03 districts/cities of Nam Dinh from January 2022 till May of the same year. Achivement: 68 health staff agreed to join in the research. 47.1% graduated from universities and 35.3% from colleges and intermediate schools could name their centers’ functions correctly. 35.3% with university degree and 27.5% with college and intermediate degrees understood their health centers’ responsibilities. 100% showed their full awareness of such responsilities as collecting data, reporting and others assigned by the director of district-level health center or the head of commune People’s Committee. 17.6% of staff with college and intermediate degrees acknowledge their responsibilities of instruction to village-level colleagues. 29.4% with universities degree and 27.5% with college and intermediate degrees were fully aware of 06 professional contents. Knowledge about primary health care could be expressed by 70.6% out of those graduated from universities and 70.5% out of those graduated from colleges and intermediate universities. Fairness principle were acknowledged by 76.5% with universities degree and 58.9% with college and intermediate degrees. 76.5% and 58.9% could name between 2 and 5 characteristics. Conclusion: Primary health care includes basic and preleminary care activities. Health staff should understand its contents, principles and characteristics in order to gain higher efficiency. Furthermore, those at lower-level health centers are required to understand the functions and responsibilities of their health centers.
