Abstract

Objectives: Study on clinical and laboratory characteristics of patients with Demodex blepharitis. Subjects and methods: A cross-sectional description conducted on 24 patients (48 eyes) who were examined, diagnosed and treated for Demodex blepharitis at Nghe An Eye Hospital from January 2021 to April 2021. Results: Itching and exfoliation blepharitis is a common symptom, Up to 50% of patients have mild eyelid itching and 47.92% of patients have exfoliation blepharitis also mild, In addition, 72.92% of patients have no pain. mild symptoms of eyelid hyperemia accounted for 56.25%, palpebral alopecia accounts for 100%. dry eye syndrome accounts for 25%. lesions on cornea, conjunctiva accounted for 37.5%. Number of Demodex on the template; <5 Demodex/template: 50%. 5-10 Demodex/template: 33.33%, >10 Demodex/template: 16.67%.
