RESULT OF BREAST CONSTRUCTION WITH IMPLANT IN TREATMENT OF EARLY- STAGE BREAST CANCER IN K HOSPITAL

Abstract

Objectives: To evaluate results of breast reconstruction with implant in treatment of early- stage breast cancer. Subject and method: Retrospective description study in 60 breast cancer patients who underwent SSM or NSM and reconstruction with implants at K Hospital from January 2015 to December 2021. Result: The rate of postoperative complication was low. Aesthetic score were at the excellent and good level at 1 month, 1 year, and 2 years after surgery was 82,4%; 76,5%; 70,5%, respectively. The patients who treated with adjuvant radiotherapy had lower aesthetic score than the patients group without radiotherapy. Adjuvant chemotherapy does not affect to aesthetic result. Conclusion: Immediate breast reconstruction with implant had good aesthetic results, with aesthetic deterioration over time and in the group of patients treated with adjuvant radiotherapy.
