Abstract

Objectives and methods: In order to have a basis for conducting intervention and education to prevent foot complications in diabetic patients, we conducted a survey on the current status of knowledge, attitudes, and practice of foot care for diabetic patients at Saint Paul General Hospital. Results: The percentage of patients with good knowledge about common foot complications was only 58%. The percentage of patients with a satisfactory attitude about complications and foot care is 71%. Patients with complication care practice achieved the rate of 43%. Conclusion: The knowledge, attitude, and practice of foot care for diabetic patients are mostly unsatisfactory.
