CLINICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF PATIENTS WITH ISCHEMIC STROKE TREATED AT DEPARTMENT OF TRADITIONAL MEDICINE/BACH MAI HOSPITAL IN 2020

Abstract
Objective: To describe the clinical characteristics of patients with ischemic stroke treated at Department of Traditional Medicine/Bach Mai Hospital in 2020 and some related controllable risk factors. Subjects and Methods: 60 patients being diagnosed with ischemic stroke, regardless of age, gender, volunteered to participate in the study. Generalizing the characterization of patients, assessment of functional activities by degree of paralysis according to Rankin, Barthel scale and Orgogozo scale, commented on some related controllable risk factors. Results: the average age of patient's was 64.10 ± 11.15 (years), the number of male suffered from the disease take high percentage (70%). The disease greatly affects the patient's life and activities with 93.33% paralysis grade III-IV according to Rankin, the average Barthel score was 56.29 ± 9.07, the average Orgogozo score was 53.87 ± 12.42. The high risk factors associated with ischemic stroke are hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes, addicted to alcohol, addicted to smoking. Conclusion: it is necessary to receive early treatment and combine some of methods to minimize disability and improve the patient's quality of life.
