Abstract

Objective: To study some factors related to the result of open surgery for thyroid cancer patients at Thai Binh General Hospital from 2018-2021. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study, analyzing factors related to treatment outcomes of 64 thyroid cancer patients undergone open surgery at Thai Binh General Hospital. Research results: The relationship between surgical results and the number of tumors: The good results in the group with 1 tumor and 2 tumors were 50%. There was no statistically significant difference between the number of tumors and the surgical outcome (p > 0.05); Relationship between surgical results and tumor size: There was no statistically significant difference between surgical results and tumor size between groups (<2cm, 2-4cm, >4cm); Relationship between surgical results and tumor location: There was no statistically significant difference (p > 0.05); Relationship between the surgical outcome and the degree of invasion: There was no statistically significant (p > 0.05); There is a difference but not statistically significant between the two groups of surgical results and the degree of lymph node metastasis; There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups of surgical results and disease stage (p > 0.05). Conclusion: According to the results of a study of 64 patients with thyroid cancer undergone open surgery at Thai Binh General Hospital from 2018 to 2021, factors such as tumor size, tumor location, invasiveness and the difference in disease stage was not statistically significant.
