KẾT QUẢ XẠ TRỊ ĐIỀU BIẾN LIỀU KẾT HỢP ĐỒNG THỜI CISPLATIN BỆNH UNG THƯ HẠ HỌNG GIAI ĐOẠN III-IVB TẠI BỆNH VIỆN UNG BƯỚU NGHỆ AN

Abstract

Objectives: To describe some clinical and paraclinical characteristics and evaluate the results of a group of patients with stage III-IVB hypopharyngeal cancer who were treated by intensity-modulated radiation therapy concomitant with Cisplatin regimen at Nghe An oncology hospital. Material and method: A descriptive study on 45 patients with stage III- IVB hypopharyngeal cancer at Nghe An Oncology Hospital from January 2020 to march 2022. The patients received intensity-modulated radiation therapy concomitant with cisplatin every 3 weeks. Results: Mean age 58.20±8.13, 100% of patients were male. The ratio of patients with swallowing disorder was 73.3% and self-palpable cervical lymph nodes was 20.0%. Tumor is located at the piriform sinus (75.56%), There are 15 (33.3%) patients at stage III and 30 (66.7%) patients at stage IVA-B. Overall survival at 12 months and 24 months was 88.8% and 40.6%, respectively; disease-free survival at 12 months was 57.7%.The rate of complete response after chemoradiotherapy was 48.9%, the partial response rate was 46.7%. Severe toxicity on hematopoietic system (Gr 3-4): neutropenia 13.3% (6 patients), thrombocytopenia 4.4% (2 patients), no patient suffered side effects Gr 3-4 on liver and kidney. Dermatitis, mucositis Gr ≥2 were 24,44% and 37,77%. Conclusion: The regimen has a good response rate, safety, and acceptable toxicity.
