Abstract

False pregnancy can be a mental illness or an unspecified somatic symptom disorder. In this report, we present a case of a 24-year-old female patient who was hospitalized with “post-operative scar”, previously showing symptoms such as missed menstrual period, enlarged abdomen, thought she was pregnant. The patient was admitted to the hospital with a scar below the umbilicus, like a cesarean section. Through the process of examining and monitoring patients, 3 hypotheses were raised: delusional pregnancy, pseudocyesis or simulated pregnancy.
