Abstract

Objects: Evaluation of clinical and subclinical characteristics of patients with basedow treated by transoral endoscopic thyroidectomy (TOETVA) at Hanoi Medical University Hospital. Methods: prospective cases series study was conducted on 8 patients eligible for TOETVA surgery at the Department of Oncology and Palliative Care, Hanoi Medical University Hospital from January 2020 to July 2022. Clinical, laboratory and surgical scores were recorded. Results: The mean age in our study was 31.87±8 years old. The mean thyroid volume was 23.95±2.54 cm3. The average tumor size was 13.75±5.15 mm. Most tumors are found in 1 lobe of the thyroid gland, the rate of detecting tumors in both thyroid lobes is 25%. In our study of 100 patients undergoing total thyroidectomy, the mean surgical time was 135±34.6 minutes. Conclusions: TOETVA surgery can be applied in the treatment of Graves' disease.
