CARBAMAZEPINE ALLERGY AND ITS ASSOCIATION WITH THE PRESENCE OF HLA-B*15:02 AND HLA-A*31:01 ALLELES IN TAM ANH HOSPITAL
Main Article Content
Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the relationship between Carbamazepine allergy and the presence of HLA-B*15:02 and HLA-A*31:01 alleles in Tam Anh hospital. Subjects and methods: Case-control study conducted in 26 patients allergic with Carbamazepine and 28 patients in control group. Results: A statistically significant association was found between Carbamazepine allergy and HLA-B*15:02 with OR = 4.00 (95%CI 2.28-12.49, p = 0.017). All patients dianosed with Carbamazepine-induced SJS carried HLA-B*15:02. No association was found between Carbamazepine allergy and HLA-A*31:01 with OR = 0.69 (95%CI 0.11-4.53, p = 0.703).
