CLINICAL CHARACTERISTICS, DIAGNOSIS, AND SURGICAL RESULTS POSTERIOR FOSSA EPIDURAL HEMATOMA (PFEH) AT VIET DUC HOSPITAL

Abstract

52 patients undergone surgery for posterior fossa epidural hematoma (PFEH) from 01/2021 to 05/2022, follow-up after 06 months. Ages over 16 is 65.4%, the cause of traffic accidents is 50%. GCS scale of 13-15 points have 61.5% at admission and 90.4% at discharge, statistically significant improvement. On CT scanner image, only PFEH accounted for 32.7%, spread to the occipital region was 38.5%, combined with other lesions of the brain accounted for 28.8%. Surgical results: no mortality, wound infection and osteomyelitis accounted for 17.3% were cured. There are 31.4% of patients with unemployment or change other jobs. The main causes are personality, mental, behavioral changes and depression.
