ĐÁNH GIÁ HIỆU QUẢ CỦA ĐIỆN CHÂM VÀ XOA BÓP BẤM HUYỆT TRONG ĐIỀU TRỊ LIỆT DÂY THANH SAU PHẪU THUẬT TUYẾN GIÁP

Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the treatment outcomes of electroacupuncture and massage therapy in patients with post-thyroidectomy unilateral vocal chord paralysis. Subjects and methods: Prospective study, clinical intervention with control group, comparison of results before and after treatment on 60 patients diagnosed with post-thyroidectomy unilateral vocal chord paralysis at the National Hospital of Endocrinology from October 2021 to August 2022. Patients was divided into 2 groups: the interventional group was treated with electroacupuncture combined with massage therapy, the control group was treated with massage therapy alone. Evaluation was conduted after 10 days of treatment. Results: The improvement in hoarseness was higher in the interventional group (from 100% to 46.7% versus from 100% to 80% of control group), the improvement in cough and sputum was also higher in the interventional group compared with the control group (from 90% to 13.3% versus from 63.3% to 13.3%). The incident of good vocal cord mobility after treatment was 93.3% in the study group and 90% in the control group, respectively. The improvement in VHI score in the interventional group was higher compared to the control group (30.1±10.9 points versus 23.7±14.6 points).
