EVALUATION OF ONE CURVE FILE SYSTEME’S SHAPING ABILITY IN MANDIBULAR PREMOLARS’ ROOT CANALS USING ETTI

Abstract

One Curve is the new NiTi endodontic file system intended to simplify the root canal shaping process with a single file. Because the file has an conical cross-section, its effect on the oval canals should be evaluated. This study was conducted with the aim of evaluating the effectiveness of root canal shaping of One Curve file on mandibular premolars using ETTI (Endodontically Treated Tooth Index). The non-controlled interventional study was performed on 34 patients who received endodontic treatment at the Department for Required services, National Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology Hanoi, from 10/2020 to 10/2021. The mandibular premolars’ root canals are shaped by the One Curve file system and obturated by warm vertical condensation technique. The quality of the endodontic treatment is evaluated using Conebeam CT and ETTI index. The results showed that 97.73% of root canals have good prognosis, therefore the One Curve file system is effective in endodontic treatment for mandibular premolars.
