Abstract
Objective: The rate and factors related to the rate of streptococcus group B vaginal - rectal in pregnant women 36 - 38 weeks at Military Hospital 87. Methods: Cross-sectional study design surveyed 220 pregnant women with gestational age from 36 to 38 weeks who came for antenatal care at the Obstetrics Clinic of Military Medical Hospital 87 who were screened for GBS from 12 to 12 weeks. 2021 - 5/2022. Results: Prevalence of streptococcus group B infection of pregnant women through culture 11.8% (95% CI: 7.3 - 16.4). The main related factors in which pregnant women have symptoms of vaginitis have 12.2 times the rate of GBS infection (OR=12.2; 95% CI: 3.8 – 39.1). Pregnant women with WBC increase >10 increased the risk of GBS infection 3.1 times (OR=3.1; 95% CI: 1.1 – 9.2). Pregnant women with hyperglycemia > 6.4 mmol/L increased the risk of GBS infection 3.6 times (OR=3.6; 95% CI:1.03–12.5). The difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: Screening for GBS in all pregnant women with a gestational age of 36 - 38 weeks on routine testing, especially in high-risk pregnant women such as vaginitis, leukocytosis and increased glucose in pregnancy.
