REAL SITUATION AND RISKS OF FALLS AMONG THE ELDERLY IN FOUR COMMUNES IN VU THU, THAI BINH IN 2022

Abstract
Objective: To describe the real situation and risks of falls among the elderly in four communes in Vu Thu, Thai Binh in 2022. Method: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted among 3038 elderly people in 4 communes inVu Thu, Thai Binh from 03/2022 to 07/2022 by direct interview through Fall Risk Questionnaire (FRQ) of STEADI- CDC - 2017 the USA has been translated into Vietnamese and tested for reliability. Results: The elderly people with the average age of 72.31±8.39 had the rate of falls of 35.3%, risks of falling of 47.8%. Conclusions: The elderly have a high rate of falls and risk of falls (35.3% and 47.8%, respectively). Therefore, it is necessary to have cross-deparmental collaboration to construct an appropriate intervention program to prevent the elderly from falling in the community.
