Abstract

Objectives: To evaluate the prognostic value of AIM65 score in predicting first 5 days in-hospital rebleeding and 30-days mortality in cirrhotic patients with acute gastric variceal bleeding. Materials and Methods: 101 cirrhotic patients with acute gastric variceal bleeding hospitalized at Bach Mai Hospital. AIM65 score was calculated within the first 24 hours; monitoring rebleeding in the first 5 days and mortality in 30 days in these patients. Results: Out of 101 hospitalized patients for treatment, 17 patients died, accounting for 16.8%. The rate of recurrent bleeding accounted for 21.8%, the average AIM65 score was 1.81 ± 1.02 . AIM65 score can predict the first 5 days rebleeding and mortality with AUROC are 0,706 and 0,915, respectively. Conclusion: The AIM65 score is valuable in predicting early rebleeding within 5 days and predicting mortality in cirrhotic patients with gastric varices bleeding.
