Abstract

Introduction: Study to assess outcomes of treatment of chronic Achilles tendon rupture by using Achilles tendon Allograft at Viet Duc Hospital. Method: A retrospective and prospective descriptive study on 26 patients diagnosed chronic Achilles tendon rupture repaired by Achilles tendon Allograft from 01/2017 to 04/2022 at Viet Duc Hospital. Result: The average age of the study subjects was 40.2 ± 12.4 years old, sport injuries and daily-life accidents, which are the cause of injury, accounted for a high rate (96,2%), average time from injury to surgery is 10.3 ± 11.0 weeks. The average length of gap is 3.8 ± 1.7cm. Good overall results: AOFAS 88.8 ± 6.4, ATRS 90.1 ± 5.9. Conclusion: Chronic Achilles tendon rupture is complicated; patients have a big length of gap and a variety of treatment methods. Repairing by using Achilles tendon Allograft has a good outcome, becomes one of good options for chronic Achilles tendon rupture treatment.
