OUTCOME OF CEMENTLESS TOTAL HIP ARTHROPLASTY FOR OSTEONECROSIS OF THE HIP IN TAM ANH HOSPITAL

Abstract

Introduction: Evaluation of the outcome of primary Total Hip Arthroplasty in treatment of osteonecrosis. Method: We retrospectively reviewed the outcome of 22 patients who underwent 26 primary total hip arthroplasty in the treatment of hip osteonecrosis in Tam Anh Hospital between August 2020 and December 2021. The outcome was assessed by Harris Hip Score; dislocation rate and patients’ satisfaction. Result: Mean age was 56.22 ± 10.91years old. 50% of the patients were males and 64% of the patients were less than or equal to 60 years old. The mean follow-up time was 12 months. The average pre-op HHS and post-op HHS were 53.69 ± 5.81 and 91.50 ± 3.33, respectively. There were no major complications such as dislocation; intraprosthesis dislocation, aseptic loosening, or revision at the latest follow-up. 100% of the patients were satisfied with the procedure. Conclusion: Cementless total hip arthroplasty for osteonecrosis of the hip yields good postoperative results in terms of hip function, and quality of life.
