Abstract

Objectives: To describe some common clinical characteristics in patients with corneal ulcers caused by herpes. Subjects and methods: Prospective corelation study. 96 eyes of 96 patients were diagnosed with corneal ulcers caused by herpes at Nghe An Eye Hospital from March 2021 to September 2021. Results: Most of the patients had functional symptoms, uncorrected visual acuity over 3/10 to 7/10 accounted for 26.04%. The location of the corneal ulcers at the central edge is 56.25%, the morphologically, the dendritic ulcer accounts for 60.42%, the geographic ulcer accounts for 21.87%, The depth of corneal ulcers from 1/3 to 2/3 of the corneal thickness accounts for 82.29%, the diameter of corneal ulcers, from 3-6mm accounts for 71.88%, over 6mm accounts for 18.75%. pericorneal injection was present in all patients. The border in ulcers is not clear, accounting for 81.25%. Corneal edema accounts for 64.58%. Very few patients have tydall at anterior chamber (2,08%).
