Abstract

Low back pain arising from lumbar spondylosis is a common musculoskeletal disease and patients with this disease tend to rejuvenate over time. Our study was designed to evaluate the pain degree and motor function improvement effects of the lumbar spine by electroacupuncture at 'Giap Tich L1 to L5' points, and 'accupoint formula 8', combined with acupressure massage. Participants in the study will receive a 14-day course of treatment. Our study applied method of clinical trials, comparing results before and after treatment. From September 2021 to September 2022, 50 patients with low back pain stem from spinal degeneration, treated at the Traditional Medicine Hospital of the Ministry of Public Security approved to participate in the study. The results showed that after treatment, the pain grade according to the VAS scale of the studied patients decreased statistically significantly from 5.94 ± 1.35 (points) to 1.50 ± 1.33 (points), the range of motion of the lumbar spine also increased significantly compared to before treatment. The above results show that the accupoint formula is significantly effective and should be applied in clinical practice.
