Abstract

Health financing is an important component of every country's health system and a key factor in assisting the health system achieve its goal of universal health coverage. The postgraduates equipped with knowledge of financial management will help them have a better awareness in effective use of resources and increase work productivity. Objectives: (1) Describe the training needs in health financing among postgraduates at the School of Preventive medicine and Public Health, Hanoi Medical University during the period of 2020-2022; (2) Describe some factors related to the training needs in health financing among postgraduates at the School of Preventive medicine and Public Health, Hanoi Medical University during the period of 2020-2022. Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out on 111 undergraduates studying at Hanoi Medical University in the period of 2020-2022.Results: The percentage of postgraduates who want to be trained in health financing accounts for 77%. Master's degree in Hospital Management, Master's in Preventive Medicine and Master's in Public Health, knowledge of health care is 3 times higher (OR=3; 95%CI: 1.25-7.2) compared to other majors. Conclusion: The need for training in health financing among postgraduates at the School of Preventive medicine and Public Health is quite high. Students emphasize the important role of learning health care knowledge in applying to their practical work and daily personal spending management skills. Students' majors are related to their training needs.
