EVALUATE THE RESULTS OF TRANSCONJUNCTIVAL LOWER BLEPHAROPLASTY

Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the results of transconjunctival lower blepharoplasty. Methods: Patients with excess lower eyelid fat were performed transconjunctival lower blepharoplasty at National Eye Hospital from 7/2021 to 9/2022. Clinical intervention study without a control group with a sample size of 28 eyes. Results were evaluated after 1 week and 1 month. Results: After surgery, there was no patient reported lagophthalmos, ectropion or damage to the eyeball surface. 92,9% patients achieved success in the flatness and symmetry. The rate of patients satisfied with the surgical results was 78,6%. Regarding the overall results, 71,4% of eyes achieved good results, 28,6% of eyes achieved average results and no case achieved poor results. Conclusion: Transconjunctival lower blepharoplasty is an easy, safe and effective method for patients without or mild skin redundancy.
