Abstract

Objectives: Overview intratympanic Steroid treatment in Ménière's disease. Study design: Scoping review. Methods: Using databases from Pubmed website, Hanoi Medical University Library and manual search (January 2016 to December 2021). Result: we found 405 articles in the search terms, which adds up to 14 articles that met the selection criteria. Fourteen articles were published on 830 patients with two different extra-tympanic tympanic medications, including Intratympanic Dexamethasone (ITD), Intratympanic Methylprednisolone (ITM), and were included in the analysis. We conducted an analysis of the injection method, dosing and treatment effectiveness of the two drugs listed above. Conclusion: Intratympanic Steroid injections are effective in the short-term control of vertigo with deterioration in vertigo control over time. The protective ability to restore hearing with Intratympanic steroid injections is unclear.
