EVALUATION OF THE SUPPORTIVE EFFECT OF BACH NIEN KIEN CAPSULE IN PATIENTS WITH KNEE OSTEOARTHRITIS

Abstract

Objecttives: To evaluate the supportive effect of the “Bach nien kien” capsule in patients with knee osteoarthritis and monitor adverse effects. Subject and Methods: The clinical trial compared the results before and after treatment of 60 patients divided into two groups. Result: After 30 days of treatment, the average pain according to VAS in research group reduced from 4,53±1,36 to 1,50±1,14 and physical function using WOMAC in the research group reduced from 44,03±10,60 to 23,13±8,99, the improvement in research group was better than control group with p < 0.05. Conclusion: “Bach nien kien” has the effect of reducing pain, increasing joint range of motion, improving knee function and no  local or systemic adverse effects occured.
