Abstract

This article aims to discuss the current situation and some challenges in adolescent health care at the National Institute of Pediatrics. Some of the challenges in adolescent health care include age regulation for pediatric clients, society's perception of care, communication and education on reproductive health-sexual health for adolescents is still limited and inconsistent. Attitudes of parents, teachers, community, and sexual/reproductive health care providers. For adolescents, there are also prejudices. Teenagers themselves do not know how to take care of their own reproductive health/sexual health (SRH) as well as find suitable services to meet their own SRH needs. Health facilities lack services for adolescents. Most of the staff who provide sexual/reproductive health care services to adolescents have not received specific training on how to organize and implement the provision of sexual and reproductive health services to adolescents. The study recommends that the health system need to change the adolescent health care model, equip health workers with knowledge and skills, and coordinate with stakeholders (family, school, community). and civil society organizations) in supporting and taking care of young people's health
